Redshift

Redshift z is used to shift the wavelength according to the standard formula z=\Delta\lambda/\lambda. It does not get used to change the flux. Flux or magnitude of the object is provided by the user in the “Normalize flux” section.

When the option to redshift the spectrum is selected in an ETC form, only the spectral distribution is redshifted. The background contributions and emission lines are included later in the process, and are thus not redshifted.
